Celebrating the end of harvest.
This isn't actually the end of harvest. However, these are the plants I planted as seeds, last April, and thought had died. They appeared in August. Surprise! These are the only surviving comfrey plants.
This is them, this past week:
I wasn't sure they were really comfrey. I know what the seed packet said, but mistakes happen. Then, the other day I came outside to check on my plants and found the one in the terracotta pot limp, leaves flat against the soil. Test. I watered it and within a half hour it was once again perky. Yep, definitely comfrey.
Christian stories of broken souls finding God and romance Jesus never promised a life of sweetness and nice; He promises hope. The weakest flame is stronger than the dark.

Blurb for Just Friends...
I worked on the blurb yesterday. The plan is to publish Just Friends by the end of the week.
The sixth novella in the series is here...
Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and maybe a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.
Mindy Harper's life crashed, and she cut off her friends. What other choice does she have when she doesn't fit in anymore? Three different holidays for friendship aren't enough for her to believe she should celebrate any of them.
Cowboy left his early life behind, with no regrets. The moment he sees Mindy he knows where his life is headed. Friendship is the best place to start, but what is he supposed to do when she declares they're acquaintances?
God opens closed doors to those who knock, if it's His will...

Storm Pictures...
Final editing and cover art, for Just Friends, are underway. Hopefully, publishing will happen at the end of this week. God willing.
I'm sharing more pictures from a storm not long ago. I use a little digital camera. My thanks to the person who kindly gave it to me. What a blessing it has been to me.

New Likes on FB...
In celebration of new Likes on my FB author page, I've shared several sneak peeks of Just Friends. This was the most recent:
"Cowboy
should be in any minute," Dusty said.
Jim glanced at
his brother, his eyebrows raised. "Cowboy?"
"He worked
for Karl for a few weeks. I liked what I saw."
"He eats
here, with the family?" Mindy was prepared to work with him, not eat with
him.
"I finally
talked him into it," Dusty said.
"What
Dusty meant to say is he finally sent in the big guns." Faith grinned.
"He sent me and Hope over to invite him. How was he supposed to say, 'no'?
Especially when I brought a basket of goodies."
"A sample
of what he was missing, no doubt?" Jim asked.
"Of
course," Dusty replied before Faith, pride etched across his countenance.
"Like shaking a grain bucket."
Mindy wished
the stranger had resisted. Between one breath and the next, her sense of safety
vanished. She struggled to banish the resentment mounting toward the faceless
man. What if he stared? What if he was uncomfortable? What if he was repulsed?
Her skin
tingled, her breath shortened, and her heart raced. A slow pivot turned her to
face the kitchen's entryway.
Tall, dark, and
handsome. In a way, a younger version of her dad, only more... everything.
Darker hair, darker eyes, darker skin. Taller, muscled, broader in the
shoulders and chest. Quiet. No smile. No love for her in his eyes. Not like her
dad at all.
"Evening."
Low and deep, smooth and rich as hot fudge.

The Anima Series is one of my favorite video series. The most recent 7-minute Sermon was about When You Don't Have Enough. I needed this because I often feel like I don't have enough. I don't mean in the way of excess but of simply making ends meet.

One Quote Two Pictures
I'm fond of saying that God loves group projects. Prayer is the most basic and starts with you and God. He builds from there. I sent Donna Keevers Driver a quote I'd shared to add to a picture.
She sent one of a picture she'd taken. Wow!
And she sent a second. Aw!
I couldn't choose, so she let me keep both. Thank you!

New Creation by Donna Keevers Driver
I love this exchange between Cassandra and Mrs. Davies, in Reluctant Knight (Release Date is December 2015). Donna created this one for me:
Isn't it beautiful? I'm combing through other books to find quotes she can make prettier. :-)

Today's links are all about gardens.
As I wrote Just Friends, Mindy pointed out that the Harper home is surrounded by pest controlling plants. Which plants? I use Good Search and found P. Allen Smith's website:

I've been following Hillbillies in Training's new adventure in gardening, this year:
