Celebrate Halloween with a Story...

Secondhand Samhain

The seventh novella in the series...

Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.

Jan Connor, the new manager of the secondhand shop Vintage Holiday, loves her job, her town, and her life. She doesn't need anything except a little bit of help. Her annual Halloween birthday party isn't coming together, and her antiquated computer system is only making it worse.

Trent McDonald, computer guru extraordinaire, is looking for a place to call home. His brother, Cowboy, suggested Holiday might offer what he needs but never mentioned Vintage Holiday's pretty shop manager.

Between one breath and the next, God changes everything...

Favorite Book Friday

"Grant Us Grace 5-Book Box Set" by Elizabeth Maddrey Christian romance. Once I started reading, it was a challenge to stop for meals and sleep. Tough topics with touching insights. I also love her sense of humor. Elizabeth Maddrey is on my Must Read List.

Monday Quote

Love is not an affectionate feeling,

but a steady wish for the loved person's good

as far as it can be obtained.

Whatever the Cost by David and Jason Benham "Facing your fears, dying to your dreams, and living powerfully." Keeping this one close to hand for a while. They have some good ideas for making changes. I was ready for this book.

Tuesday Tidbit

Another chapter edited and a goal to finish another one this week. Praying I'll finish more than one. When I wrote the book, years ago, my prime writing time was 10-2, that's PM to AM. I can't keep those hours anymore. Now, I'm in bed and asleep before 10pm. I've tried to re-work my writing time, but my head is cluttered during the day with everything that needs to be done. Trusting God.

Favorite Book Friday

A Splash of Substance (Taste of Romance series book 1) by Elizabeth Maddrey contemporary Christian romance. Elizabeth sometimes throws in a Lord of the Rings or Narnia reference, which I thoroughly enjoy. Her stories aren't comfortable, but I always end up glad I read them; she makes me think.

A Pinch of Promise (Taste of Romance series book 2) by Elizabeth contemporary Christian romance. Funnily enough, her heroines grate on my nerves. They remind me of myself; many of their flaws are mine. I enjoy seeing them overcome, not perfectly but better.

A Dash of Daring (Taste of Romance series book 3) by Elizabeth contemporary Christian romance. This time, I had more in common with the hero. He's struggling to find his calling, following the path of least resistance. I've done that a lot in my life. Loved it.

A Handful of Hope (Taste of Romance series book 4) by Elizabeth Maddrey contemporary Christian romance. Jen delved into some of my ongoing troubles. I loved Jen and David as individuals and as a couple.

A Tidbit of Trust (Taste of Romance series book 5) by Elizabeth Maddrey contemporary Christian romance. The end another series I enjoyed. Her characters are wonderfully real and imperfect. I understood Sara struggle with believing she was forgiven. Adam's jumping to conclusions sometimes drove me crazy, and yet it's not a quality I'm proud of in myself. The Grant Us Grace series comes before this, for those who like to read in order.

I've changed the spelling on some names because I learned that the new publishing tool is less tolerant of anything it considers a misspelling.

Sunday Scripture

Ruth 3:14-15

And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor. Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.
