Leap of Faith Day

There's no Leap Day, this year. Who needs a reason to enjoy a good romantic Christian novella?

Leap of Faith Day

The ninth novella in the series is here...

Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.

Her life a mess, EMT Belle Carlisle wants a fresh start. She's lived in Holiday a few years and likes it well enough. She's happy, mostly. 'Be Bold' is her personal aphorism, but it was never intended to include asking a man on a date.

Born and raised in Holiday, Vince Timmons is certain the prettiest EMT on the planet could never be interested in a younger man. Besides, his life is a mess. Not to mention the woman he pursued for over a year humiliated him in public. The last thing he needs is to fall for another woman who doesn't want him.

Man looks on the outward appearance and judges accordingly. God looks on the heart...

Favorite Book Friday

"McKinnon's Bride," "Twice Blessed," and "Standing Tall" comprise the Willow Grove, Texas series by Sharon Gillenwater, historical Western, Christian romance. The first time I read one of her books was before I submitted a manuscript to anyone. I wanted to write stories like hers. Mine are different but I hope carry the same spirit of overcoming adversity and faith in God.

A Day Off

Yesterday, my sister and I attended the Renaissance Fair. We enjoyed the music of Tartanic Bagpipe and Drums and Cast in Bronze. We enjoyed crepes for lunch, our annual tradition. We decided to head home, and the blustery day turned to sprinkles. The rain increased in intensity as we made our way to her car. We slid inside, laughing, as the sky opened up in a downpour. I was still wet when I arrived home forty-five minutes later and my cloak was still wet two hours later. We had a great time.

Sometimes, it's important to step away from everything and simply be in the moment.

Monday Quote

From "Christmas Present," the eighth novella in the Holiday, USA series:

"Every event changes you. Sometimes it's small. Sometimes it's shattering. The question is do you allow all those things to change you for the better or for the worse?"

Love Song (Buckley, Texas series book 1) by Sharon Gillenwater western contemporary Christian romance. I should have read the this series before reading Gideon and Kylie, as it's a continuation. The books stand alone, but people are introduced in other stories. Loved it!

Are you ready for Valentine's Day?

What about a fun novella to start?

Valentine Delivery

Time for the third novella in the series...

Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and maybe a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.

Lance Nelson delivers flowers every Valentine's Day. This year, he decides to show the woman he's secretly loved all his life exactly how he feels, creating a unique bouquet especially for her.

This Valentine's Day, Sharon Kelly decides to stop waiting for someone to send her what she wants and orders a bouquet of flowers for herself. She might as well arrange for her secret crush to deliver them.

God works in mysterious ways to provide the way to Happily Ever After, even when His children stand in their own way...

Musical Thursday

My precious great niece, Emma, entered the world, yesterday. Ten minutes later, she returned home to God. For those who believe Love doesn't Hurt, you are wrong. Love is not abusive. Love is devastating, powerful, vulnerable, joyous, sorrowful, humbling, consuming, giving, unique, beautiful, painful, angry, fearful, faithful, asks for and gives forgiveness, responsible, accountable, courageous, honorable... Love is Everything. How could it be anything less? God is Everything. God is Love.

Tuesday Tidbit

"Christmas Lost" is in final edits. The first chapter of the next novella, "The Blessing Basket," is almost finished. This is the most recent sentence added (unedited) :

--> Life was complicated enough without adding a tempting, secretive woman who was probably too young for him anyway.

Musical Thursday

Yes, I know it's a Christmas song. It's one I loved singing in choir, in high school. However, it isn't one that's often done. This is one of the few I've found by a popular artist. The others I found were church or school choirs. So a little bit of Christmas to start off a new month.
