Monday Quote

God's children are not for sale.

"Sound of Freedom" Movie

July 30 is End Human Trafficking Day every year. It needs to be every day. 2 Million Children, every year, are trafficked. Women and men are also trafficked. "Sound of Freedom" is based on a true story. Tim Ballard, who lived the stories, demanded the movie contain nothing that might titillate or entice. I remember when O.U.R. - Operation Underground Railroad - first started. They didn't want simple rescuing because the children just ended up back in the slave trade. O.U.R. started operation once they had in place: rescuing, prosecuting the predators, and aftercare for the survivors. They work with and train law enforcement all over the world. When life was more stable I donated every month to O.U.R. I want to be able to do that again.

Jaco Booyens's younger sister was kidnapped and trafficked. He spent two years searching for her and rescued her. He created Jaco Booyens Ministry. I've seen numerous interviews with him. In one, he reported that on average children are first exposed to pornography as early as 8 years old and it's usually rape. Trafficking is becoming the most profitable business on the planet and funds/supplements all other illicit activities.

Victor Marx also conducts rescuing operations.

Numerous organizations exist to fight this evil. Some address the electronic side exclusively. Some address the aftercare exclusively. Do the homework if you decide to donate. Prayer doesn't cost anything but time and pride. A small price to pay. God bless all those in the fight and help them rescue the innocents.

All or Nothing Day is tomorrow.

Celebrate with a story:

All or Nothing

The tenth novella in the series.

Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.

Secrets? Angela Goodrich owns a few. Moving to Holiday is her dream come true. As Holiday Sweets' new manager, she wants a fresh start even as she wants to share the truth of who she is. Will she still be welcomed?

Anger issues? Caleb Bronson denies it despite the fact he'd like to throttle his EMT partner's new fiancé for wronging his sister. What does it matter if his anger is dominating his life and spills over on the attractive and newest resident of Holiday?

The truth will set you free, if you're willing to endure the discomfort of letting go of the lies. God knows the pain hidden in the soul anyway...

Favorite Book Friday

Dark Roads by Justine Davis fiction. A story of two brothers and their journey. Justine Davis writes character driven stories, and though she usually writes romance/suspense romance, this one is focused more on the relationship between the brothers and those related to them and associated with them. For those who don't like any profanity, this book is not for you; I'd rate it at a PG-13, not quite R, because of the language and themes, mostly implied. Justine Davis stories give me an opportunity for some introspection and thinking about how I want to be a better person, more like some of her characters. It was a satisfying read for me. I have several lines I starred; yes, I bought the book in paperback. Worth it to me.

Sunday Scripture

Mark 5:33-36

33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

Favorite Book Friday

A Change of Fortune by Traci Hunter Abramson romance. Stand Alone, the only book by Traci that truly is a stand alone. All the others have overlapping characters, even if only briefly. Some of us call those book Easter Eggs. This book changed my perspective on how I need to handle my money, little though it is. God blessed me with enough to meet my needs, and I need to use it wisely.

Finally able to work on manuscript again without wanting to trash the whole thing. However, it required doing some cutting and re-arranging. If I get stuck, others will get stuck. Working to improve readability.
