...but Sunday is coming.
Christian stories of broken souls finding God and romance Jesus never promised a life of sweetness and nice; He promises hope. The weakest flame is stronger than the dark.

Good Friday
Jesus knew what was coming. He endeavored to prepare His disciples. However, what was about to happen had never occurred in history before, and would never occur again. A singular event planned before the beginning of time to change all of eternity. Because of one Man, the Son of God, all mankind was promised escape from death and hell, but who could believe such an event, one unlike any other? The followers of Jesus didn't comprehend what was coming. For them, this day was the end, but Sunday is coming.

The last unedited paragraph I worked on, in "The Blessing Basket." I'd hoped to have it ready for Easter. Not going to happen, but then "Christmas Lost" was ready for Christmas either. Life happens. Controlling what's within my power and letting go of what isn't.
It was all Trace's fault. The day after Thanksgiving, he walked into the diner and asked for Alex. He reminded her of a brick wall. Big as he was, she should have been afraid of him. She wasn't.

John 12:12-13
On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Favorite Book Friday
The Inklings of Oxford: C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Their Friends by Harry Lee Poe nonfiction. It's a pretty easy read. Mr. Poe shared highlights of these remarkable men, a couple of my favorite authors. As I read, I wanted to visit the places and discovered Mr. Poe also included written walking tours at the end of the book. Thanks to my dear friend who blessed me with a copy of this delightful book, a keeper.

This is the unedited, current first paragraph of "The Blessing Basket," the thirteenth novella in the Holiday, USA series:
Trace Brown envied his boss. Plenty of women expressed an interest in the owner of Holiday Diner, but he'd never noticed, at least that's what Trace had heard. He'd watched the old man date and marry a woman as old as he was. In their mid-fifties, weren't they too old to act so mushy? The couple were so obviously in love the sweetness made Trace's teeth ache.

It's here, at last...
Christmas Lost
The twelfth novella in the series is here...
Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.
Townie Karen Little is the resident quintessential spinster. She's lived in the same house her whole life, more than half a century. She knows she's stuck, but her plans for the future blow up in her face, on a regular basis. Why risk being wrong again?
After six years, Holiday Diner's owner, Alexander Hamilton, is still a newbie and Holiday's most eligible silver fox bachelor. Being the catch of the day for the single women of Holiday makes his vow to never marry again a challenge. Why test the three strikes you're out rule?
Sometimes, so much time passes, it feels like God has forgotten, but He is moving all the pieces into place for the right moment...

Tough Luck
The fourth novella in the series is finally here...
Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and maybe a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.
Holiday's playboy, Brent Kelly, returns home a changed man, if only everyone would believe him. The First Annual Tough Luck Run offers him the opportunity to prove he turned over a new leaf.
Cindy Garvey has worked hard her whole life, and now she is preparing to move from employee to business owner with her best friend. The last thing she needs is one more surprise in her life.
God provides the way to Happily Ever After, no matter how far astray His children wander...

To my readers who have been patiently waiting, I thank you. I've a chapter and a half to finish editing. Then, it's time for formatting, making sure everything is ready for being uploaded. After that, it's a deep breath, a prayer, filling everything in, and clicking "Publish." Here's a line:
You never claimed to be smart. Curious, yes, but curious often has little do to with smart.
