Umpteenth, a popular World War I army slang, wasn't recorded until 1907, almost 100 years too late.
Christian stories of broken souls finding God and romance Jesus never promised a life of sweetness and nice; He promises hope. The weakest flame is stronger than the dark.

Dyan Diamond shared a post on gratitude. I've noticed a difference in my attitude as I share a list of things I'm grateful for, every evening, on social media.

I was looking up information on one of my favorite movies "Facing the Giants" and found this article I enjoyed, over on Dove:

Today's word sassy doesn't appear until 1833, in America. Somewhere in my travels through life I picked up "sassy baggage." I use it, quite often. Alas, I can't use it in my Regency books.

Sunday Scripture
Proverbs 24:13-14
My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou has found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Thanks to Wander Lust Plus One, I have the opportunity to visit amazing places through their blog:

Not a travel blog but a recipe blog, Commememucho, in Spanish, was recently in England and shared their stop in the "Crown Inn." G-mail did a fair job of translating when the notification showed up.

Any book by James Herriot, which is not his real name. When I returned from Scotland the bus tour guide announced we were traveling through James Herriot country as we drove south through York.

Favorite Book Friday
Virtues and Valor series by Hallee Bridgeman, Christian romance writer, contains eight episodes, the same World War II event from eight different points of view and includes the history of the heroine or hero or event inspiring the episode. Hallee is on my must read list. I laughed and I cried and I had a tough time putting down my Kindle until I'd read every episode.

Tuesday Tidbit
The recent closing of the publisher of thirteen of my books provides a new opportunity to review and expand several of my books. I'm changing Tuesday Tidbit posts from sharing pieces of what I'm currently writing to sharing why I'm making some of the changes I am.
For example: "A Promise of Possibilities" was close to publishing when an author friend introduced me to the online entomology dictionary. The entomology dictionary gives the origin of words.
This week's word is serial. I used it in the original. I checked the entomology dictionary and discovered it is dated to 1846, thirty years after my story.

"Those Who Love: A Biographical Novel of Abigail and John Adams" by Irving Stone. The author created the material tying together the actual letters and journals used. My favorite historical couple.
