Though Bridget A. Thomas' post was written in association with Thanksgiving, I think being grateful is a timely message any time of year.

Ready for Leap Day?

Celebrate with a good romantic Christian novella...

Leap of Faith Day

The ninth novella in the series...

Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.

Her life a mess, EMT Belle Carlisle wants a fresh start. She's lived in Holiday a few years and likes it well enough. She's happy, mostly. 'Be Bold' is her personal aphorism, but it was never intended to include asking a man on a date.

Born and raised in Holiday, Vince Timmons is certain the prettiest EMT on the planet could never be interested in a younger man. Besides, his life is a mess. Not to mention the woman he pursued for over a year humiliated him in public. The last thing he needs is to fall for another woman who doesn't want him.

Man looks on the outward appearance and judges accordingly. God looks on the heart...

Negativity doesn't officially show up in the English language until 1842. Much too late for my story.

Sunday Scripture

Ruth 1:16-17

And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

Favorite Book Friday

Under Currents (Book 1), Ripple Effect (Book 2)and The Deep End (Book 3) by Traci Hunter Abramson suspense romance. The protagonists are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (nicknames: LDS and Mormon. Side note: The Reformed CoJCoLDS left the church 130 years ago but are also referred to as Mormons). This is truly a trilogy. The books don’t stand alone; each book has a logical conclusion, but the end isn’t until book 3. I’ve added this author to my Must Read List.

The language of flowers plays a brief role in "A Promise of Possibilities." Although studying the language of flowers became popular during the Victorian Era, from 1837-1901, interest developed much earlier. Shakespeare even used the language of flowers. Of course, I found different meanings depending on the source. Entire messages could be conveyed by the choice of flowers in a bouquet.

Happy Valentine's Day

Celebrate with a story...

Valentine Delivery

The third novella in the series...

Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and maybe a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.

Lance Nelson delivers flowers every Valentine's Day. This year, he decides to show the woman he's secretly loved all his life exactly how he feels, creating a unique bouquet especially for her.

This Valentine's Day, Sharon Kelly decides to stop waiting for someone to send her what she wants and orders a bouquet of flowers for herself. She might as well arrange for her secret crush to deliver them.

God works in mysterious ways to provide the way to Happily Ever After, even when His children stand in their own way...

Tuesday Tidbit

The first time I wrote "A Promise of Possibilities," it was under a different title. I also had numerous sunny days and lovely weather. Then I did my homework. On April 5, 1815, months before Waterloo, Mount Tambora, in Sumbawa, in Indonesia, erupted. The following year, North America and Europe endured unusually cold weather. The year after, they dealt with heavy rains. When I rewrote the book with the new title, I took the weather into account. Now you know.

Sunday Scripture

Ruth 1:11-13

And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons; Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord is gone out against me.

Tuesday Tidbit

A discussion arose about the proper spelling of "he" and "you" when referring to God. The vast majority of grammar rules state that the "h" and "y" should be lower case. I confess: I can't do it. When I use a pronoun for God I always capitalize, i.e., He and You. Now you know.

Sunday Scripture

Ruth 1:7-10

Wherefore she went forth out of that place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah. And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother's house: the Lord deal kindly with you, and ye have dealt with the dead, and with me. And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people.
