Sunday Scripture

Esther 1:21-22

And the saying pleased the king and the princes; and the king did according to the word of Memucan: For he sent letters into all the king's provinces, into every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language, that every man should bear rule in his own house, and that it should be published according to the language of every people.

Favorite Book Friday

No Leap Year but still a good story:

Leap of Faith Day

The ninth novella in the series is here...

Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.

Her life a mess, EMT Belle Carlisle wants a fresh start. She's lived in Holiday a few years and likes it well enough. She's happy, mostly. 'Be Bold' is her personal aphorism, but it was never intended to include asking a man on a date.

Born and raised in Holiday, Vince Timmons is certain the prettiest EMT on the planet could never be interested in a younger man. Besides, his life is a mess. Not to mention the woman he pursued for over a year humiliated him in public. The last thing he needs is to fall for another woman who doesn't want him.

Man looks on the outward appearance and judges accordingly. God looks on the heart...

For those who prefer paperback, Holiday, USA Anthology 2016-17

All four novellas, 9-12, are available in their entirety in paperback, including the covers on the back, for those who enjoy collecting a series.

Musical Thursday

Calmed By Nature is an ambient sound channel, with an owl logo. At least one owl is in each video. I love going full screen.

"Easy Breezy Fall" video (breeze, wind chime, birds, water) is about eight hours longs:

Tuesday Tidbit

A friend I haven't seen for a while recently asked when I'd have my books republished again. It was so encouraging. It's easy to grow discouraged when the work moves so slowly. Badgering is like being beaten, and I'm already proficient at beating myself up, but a gentle inquiry soothes a troubled heart.

Sunday Scripture

Esther 1:16-20

And Memucan answered before the king and the princes, Vashti the queen hath not done wrong to the king only, but also to all the princes, and to all the people that are in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus. For this deed of the queen shall come abroad unto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not. Likewise shall the ladies of Persia and Media say this day unto all the king's princes, which have heard of the deed of the queen. Thus shall there arise too much contempt and wrath. If it please the king, let there go a royal commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it be not altered, That Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate unto another that is better than she. And when the king's decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small.

Blaze of Light by Gary Beikirch and Marcus Brotherton is the story of Gary Beikirch, a Medal of Honor recipient who served in Vietnam. It isn't an easy read. It is powerful and life changing, if you open your heart to the message.

Tuesday Tidbit

Less than 7 chapters/52 pages to go. Do you beat yourself up for being too slow? Afraid? Stumbling? Does it do any good? Or does it make it worse? Would Jesus say to you what you've said to yourself? Would He call you stupid or slow or worthless? He wouldn't. He loves you, flaws and all, and only wants what's best for you. He loves you so much He willingly suffered and died for you. You are priceless.

Sunday Scripture

Esther 1:13-15

Then the king said to the wise men, which knew the times, (for so was the king's manner toward all that knew law and judgement: And the next unto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king's face, and which sat the first in the kingdom;) What shall we do unto the queen Vashti according to the law, because she hath not performed the commandment of the king Ahasuerus by the chamberlains?

Ready for Valentine's Day?

Celebrate with a story

Valentine Delivery

Time for the third novella in the series...

Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and maybe a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.

Lance Nelson delivers flowers every Valentine's Day. This year, he decides to show the woman he's secretly loved all his life exactly how he feels, creating a unique bouquet especially for her.

This Valentine's Day, Sharon Kelly decides to stop waiting for someone to send her what she wants and orders a bouquet of flowers for herself. She might as well arrange for her secret crush to deliver them.

God works in mysterious ways to provide the way to Happily Ever After, even when His children stand in their own way...

Favorite Book Friday

Operation Mistletoe (Operation Romance! series book 1) by Elizabeth Maddrey contemporary Christian romance. I've read this one before but am happily reading it again in the box set.

Operation Valentine (Operation Romance! series book 2) by Elizabeth Maddrey contemporary Christian romance. A sweet second chance story. There's a brief mention of Season's Bounty, from the Taste of Romance series. A fun crossover.

Operation Fireworks (Operation Romance! series book 3) by Elizabeth Maddrey contemporary Christian romance. I love her redemption themes.

Operation Back-to-School (Operation Romance! series book 4) by Elizabeth Maddrey contemporary Christian romance. The bickering children was so true to life and delightful. I love how real her people are, imperfect, flawed, but trying their best. I had several laugh out loud moments. Great ending to the series.

Nine chapters to go. Little by little. On occasion, I want to dump everything and go back to my quiet life, before I was daily and nightly disturbed by characters wanting their stories told. But I would have missed out on so much. So, onward we go.
