Monday Quote

"I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going, because they were holding on to something. That there is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for." ~ J.R.R. Tolkien The Two Towers

Favorite Book Friday

Amazing Grace by Eric Metaxas. The extraordinary nonfiction biography of William Wilberforce (1759-1833). Wilberforce was friends with John Newton who penned the song "Amazing Grace." Wilberforce was one of the early abolitionists who fought much of his life to end slavery. He also sought to reform manners, to instill the Golden Rule in every day. He lived it. He developed a remarkable circle of friends who supported each other in their Christian walk and their goals to live their Christian faith in every way. An amazing life.

Gratitude for the opportunity to serve is powerful; it fulfills scripture: In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
