From "Giving Thanks," novella #11 in the Holiday, USA series:
"Never, ever pray for patience. I'm convinced prayers for patience are tied to a pull chain that automatically dumps a bucketful of trials."
Christian stories of broken souls finding God and romance Jesus never promised a life of sweetness and nice; He promises hope. The weakest flame is stronger than the dark.

Favorite Book Friday
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery is a longtime favorite. The insights and sweetness of the story have touched my heart for decades.

Welcome back
to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays...
and a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.
Townie Karen

all her life, more than half a century. How is she supposed to have a
five-year-plan when she's grown up believing everything she does is wrong?
After six
years, Holiday Diner's owner, Alexander Hamilton, is still considered a newbie
and Holiday's most eligible gray fox bachelor. Being the catch of the day for
the single women of Holiday makes his vow to never marry again problematic. Why
would he test the three strikes you're out possibility?
Sometimes, so
much time passes, it feels like God has forgotten, but He is moving all the

Make Your Bed ~ Little Things that can Change Your Life ...and Maybe the World by Admiral William H. McRaven (U.S. Navy Retired) nonfiction. I don't make my bed every morning, but I always dress for the day, and six days a week I go for a walk. I'd like to read this regularly.

Leap of Faith Day
There's no Leap Day, this year. Who needs a reason to enjoy a good romantic Christian novella?
Leap of Faith Day
The ninth novella in the series is here...
Welcome back to Holiday, USA, small town America, where nothing happens, except holidays... and a little romance, if the hero and heroine trust God.
Her life a mess, EMT Belle Carlisle wants a fresh start. She's lived in Holiday a few years and likes it well enough. She's happy, mostly. 'Be Bold' is her personal aphorism, but it was never intended to include asking a man on a date.
Born and raised in Holiday, Vince Timmons is certain the prettiest EMT on the planet could never be interested in a younger man. Besides, his life is a mess. Not to mention the woman he pursued for over a year humiliated him in public. The last thing he needs is to fall for another woman who doesn't want him.
Man looks on the outward appearance and judges accordingly. God looks on the heart...

"McKinnon's Bride," "Twice Blessed," and "Standing Tall" comprise the Willow Grove, Texas series by Sharon Gillenwater, historical Western, Christian romance. The first time I read one of her books was before I submitted a manuscript to anyone. I wanted to write stories like hers. Mine are different but I hope carry the same spirit of overcoming adversity and faith in God.
