A stray thought wandered into his brain, but no matter how hard he pushed it away it settled front and center. Was he disappointed in her or himself?

Searching The Meaning Of Life blog is in Greek. Google Translate does an acceptable job of translating into English. This post is about better using my time. Not much I didn't know already, but it was a good reminder.

Friday Favorite Recipe

I needed a change in the routine, a refresh way of looking at things.

My Breakfast Shake

I’ve used Carnation Instant Breakfast, for years. It provides protein and other vitamins and minerals. I pour a cup of milk in the blender. Add a frozen mashed banana and the packet of CIB. Add three sprinkles of cinnamon, two sprinkles of ground nutmeg and ginger, and one sprinkle of ground cloves. Add about a half cup of coconut milk. Blend. Add about 10 frozen cherries. Blend. Add 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries. Blend. Add strawberries when I have them. Blend until smooth. I like using a shake straw. It feels decadent.

Blueberries and strawberries were on sale this week and looked beautiful. I wash and freeze them. They keep remarkably well.

Tuesday Tidbit

The most recently added unedited bit to "The Blessing Basket," novella 13, Holiday, USA series.

It's called a grounding exercise." Now that he'd started he couldn't shut up. "One of the methods called for different numbers like naming five things you can see and two things you can smell, but I could never remember the number. It made me more frustrated and escalated the symptoms. It was fine if someone was there to walk me through, but those were rare occasions. I needed something I could do alone. Three was an easy number to remember, and then I simply went through the senses I noticed as I'd regain my grip on the present."

Favorite Book Friday

Luke, yes the one found in the Bible. It was a recommended read when I read "The Battle Plan for Prayer," definitely one of my favorites. Reading the two together changed my perspective on my Savior. My understanding was already morphing, but Luke gave me the Biblical reference I needed. Along with books like "Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger," I stopped seeing a retiring, milquetoast, doormat kind of Savior. I saw a Warrior, ready, willing, and able to fight the powers of hell for me and win. I saw a Fighter who never gave up and never gave in. Even in death, He chose the hour. His life wasn't taken from Him; He gave it, with complete power and authority. I saw a Master of Himself, the elements, of this world and the world unseen. I saw a Man so full of love He was unwilling to allow darkness to reign and to demand His followers follow His life-changing, life-saving example. I saw a Hero worthy of worship, adoration, and following to the ends of the earth.
