Christian stories of broken souls finding God and romance Jesus never promised a life of sweetness and nice; He promises hope. The weakest flame is stronger than the dark.

Sunday Scripture
Esther 4:7-9
And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them. Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people. And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.

Esther 4:5-6
Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was. So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king's gate.

Favorite Book Friday
Cowboy (Harmony series Book 1) by Staci Stallings Christian romance. I didn't like the heroine much as the story went on, until I realized that it was because she reminded me of myself and weaknesses I don't like in myself. Once I recognized that, my whole feeling toward her changed. Loved the story, the growth in friendship and finding God. Keeper.

Sunday Scripture
Esther 4:3-4 last
And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. So Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received it not.

Favorite Book Friday
Hope for Christmas (Hope Ranch series Book 1) by Elizabeth Maddrey Christian romance. While this is the first book of the series, the sister to the hero is featured in Maddrey's Peacock Hill series. I love her flawed Christians doing the best they know how.
Hope for Tomorrow (Hope Ranch series Book 2) by Elizabeth Maddrey Christian romance. Skye runs away, and so do I. Morgan lays out all the possibilities, and so do I, which is difficult for someone like me who's easily overwhelmed. Loved the story and looking forward to reading the next.
Hope at Last (Hope Ranch series Book 6) by Elizabeth Maddrey Christian romance. An older couple, she's 53 and he's 60, a widow and widower but with very different backgrounds. I'm sorry to see the end of the series, but this was an awesome ending.

Tuesday Tidbit
Less than five pages to go. I've been fighting with the same paragraph for days, shuffling sentences and breaking it into two paragraphs and then back into one. Maddening.

Sunday Scripture
Esther 4:1-2
When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.
