Want to know about semicolons? The Oatmeal has a wonderful
explanation. For the record, I usually hate oatmeal, but this is
brilliant.http://theoatmeal.com/comics/semicolon
Beth Trissel shared her journey in writing and gives some great writing advice.

I love semi-colons; they are awesome! ;-) I love them even more now that I have read that fun and helpful blog. It is nice to know that I do know how to use them. Sometimes they get used too much when a period would actually be better, so I have to go back and check myself at times, but for the most part, I'm good with semi-colons.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that article great? I'm having to learn to curb my semicolon habit. LOL!
DeleteSemi-colons make more sense now. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across Beth Trissel's article this week, as well. It was great! :)
ReplyDeleteShe has some wonderful posts.
DeleteLoved the semicolon blog. I don't use them anymore - seems they are not 'good' for a YA tale. At least that's what I'm told. But I love how it was presented. Good refresher for me.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Trissel blog - I found it greatly encouraging.
It seems semicolons are appropriate for fiction, from what I've read about them. I also appreciated how clear the explanation was. Always nice to know I really do understand them.
DeleteI love Beth's blog.
